Copal is a type of tree resin that is particularly aromatic and gets its name from the Nahuatl word copalli translating to incense.
It is still traditionally used by many indigenous peoples of Mexico during sacred ceremonies.
Subfossil Copal can resemble Amber and is usually found one or two metres below living copal trees, forming into a hard fossil.
Often believed to have strong sun energy and earth communication through grounding.
Also often used for protection and removing negative energy from places and objects.
