The Hexagram, like the pentacle was thought to be a powerful symbol of magic. Medieval alchemists often used the Hexagram as a portal to the spirit world. The magic Hexagram is a variant  Seal of Solomon composed of a single interlaced line. The single unbroken line of the magic Hexagram was thought to have a stronger influence on the spirit world.
